early on, choose one mate.
Stay together; make it last,
through good and bad, it is a test you must pass.
Raise your children with firm and soft love,
show by example what is below and above.
Work hard for those in your care,
not for yourself are you in this affair.
Live long and healthy; endure the inevitable pain,
have not an enemy and divine fruit you will attain.
Leave your body with grace and peacefully,
by your side your grateful family.
Now from the place where you reside,
bless us and teach us of our gentle side.
* In Hindu/Yogic culture, their are two paths: Grihasta: the monogamous married life and Sannyas: the renunciant celibate life. Divorce and promiscuity are incompatible with the Hindu/Yogic life, specifically, as well as religious/spiritual life in general.
